Gaerwen Farm is an eighteenth century former slate workers cottage situated on the Powys-Gwynedd border near Machynlleth in mid-Wales. Set in the middle of 10 acres of private mountain and woodland situated on the border of the Snowdonia National Park. The cottage, which is connected to the owners property, has been sympathetically restored to a high standard. We're proud to say that Gaerwen Farm Holiday Cottage received a 5 star grading from the Welsh Tourist Board. The Holiday Cottage is complete with all life's little essentials including washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, cooker as well as widescreen TV and DVD player.

Gaerwen Farm is an ideal location from where to explore the mountain range of Cadair Idris. For the uninitiated Cadair Idris is a stunningly beautiful mountain range with a variety of walks and paths. The cottage is also in the heart of mountain bike country. The world famous Coed-y-Brenin only a short distance away. There are also many other local trails and routes nearby.

If all of this sounds a little strenuous, the nearby coastal town of Aberdyfi affords beautiful views, and easy going flat sandy beaches. Aberdyfi sits at the mouth of the Dyfi estuary which flows into Cardigan Bay. Click on the gallery page for a brief glimpse of this beautiful part of the country.

A fifteen minute drive will bring you to the historic market town of Machynlleth which boasts an impressive market every Wednesday and a variety of local shops and art galleries as well as pubs and restaurants.
